Does your asphalt really need watering?
Although the daily water consumption of Brossard residents is below the Quebec average, the city has adopted by-laws concerning water use in various situations, including watering, filling swimming pools and restrictions on use.
Watering
Bylaw REG-1327 stipulates that it is permitted to use hoses or automated systems for watering on Brossard territory according to the following schedule:
For even-numbered civic addresses :
- Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. the following morning
- Hose spraying is prohibited on Mondays at all times.
For odd-numbered civic addresses :
- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. the following morning
- Hose spraying is prohibited on Mondays at all times.
Important: during periods of drought, municipal authorities may prohibit watering altogether, with the exception of essential municipal work or work related to commercial activities.
Pool filling
As of January 31, 2022, use of the hydrant for pool filling is no longer possible. However, it is possible to use a private service or a hose.
