Whether it’s the use of a temporary carport, noise standards, garage sales or the height of the lawn, it’s important to know the municipal bylaws in effect. For more details, please visit the Regulations page.

Town planning

The urban plan is the planning document that establishes the guidelines for the spatial and physical organization of the city, while presenting an overall vision for the development of its territory.

These regulations divide the territory into zones, with a view to controlling the use of land and buildings, as well as the layout, form and appearance of constructions. This bylaw also controls the quality of buildings, signs and landscaping, among other things.

These regulations are currently being amended. For further information, please contact the Direction de l’urbanisme et de l’environnement.
