The Direction du loisir, de la culture et de la vie communautaire invites users to show courtesy and respect when practicing their activity. This Code of Conduct must be observed at all times.

It is ACCEPTABLE that users :

  • Be a maximum of ten (10) people per 25 m corridor or up to twenty (20).
    people per 50 m corridor;
  • Re-evaluate their choice of corridor at each visit according to the number and type of swimmers;
  • Swim from one end of the pool to the other (25 m or 50 m depending on configuration);
  • Avoid obstructing the end of a corridor when stopping or overtaking;
  • Be passed in the middle of the lane by a faster swimmer, without accelerating;
  • Wait for the faster swimmer to complete his turn before starting a length.

It is ACCEPTABLE that the rescuer :

  • Asks a user to change corridors;
  • Alters the distribution of swimming speeds in the corridors;
  • Intervene if a user fails to comply with standards or is disrespectful.

SPEED IN THE CORRIDORS

Signs are placed at the end of the corridors as a guide to enable users to swim with others at a similar pace.

It is ACCEPTABLE for users to change lanes when doing an exercise that changes their swimming rhythm or the frequency of stops.

NUMBER OF AVAILABLE CORRIDORS

It’s COMMON PRACTICE to have access to a limited number of corridors. This varies according to several factors, including :

  • Limited number of lifeguards on site (shortage, regulations, etc.);
  • Customer type (swimmers, families, children, etc.);
  • Other cohabiting activities.

Adding space or corridors during the course of an activity is not a decision taken lightly:

  • Ridership must justify this addition (more than 10 swimmers per corridor);
  • Assembly or disassembly represents an intrusion on the rescuer’s task and is a safety issue.

The lifeguard has full authority to enforce this Code of Conduct. It is important that users act in compliance with the rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all at the Complexe aquatique.

The Direction du loisir, de la culture et de la vie communautaire thanks you for your collaboration.
