Architectural consulting

Associated with the page Residential building permits

To enhance the citizen experience, Ville de Brossard offers a support service with its municipal architect. This service enables you to obtain general guidance prior to the official submission of your project, so that you can better understand the applicable requirements and the steps to be planned.

Who is this service for?

  • renovation, extension or reconstruction;
  • a project located in a zone subject to a PIIA;
  • a project requiring a better understanding of planning regulations.

Make an appointment

Every Wednesday by appointment only

To facilitate discussions and project analysis, we recommend a face-to-face meeting whenever possible.

  • In person: Book your appointment online, then come to the Town Planning counter at City Hall at the scheduled time.
  • Online: Register for the appointment online. The meeting takes place on Microsoft Teams and the link will be sent to you after registration.

To help us better understand your project and make the meeting more productive, we invite you to send us any relevant documents (sketches, photos, etc.) in advance to [email protected].

About the meetings

✅ What the service can do

During this meeting, you will be able to :

  • idealize your project;
  • obtain general guidance on your project;
  • better understand the applicable regulatory criteria;
  • validate certain areas of intervention;
  • ask your questions about the process and the next steps.

❌ What the service does not allow

To ensure a clear understanding of the department’s role :

  • This is an orientation service only
  • It does not constitute official approval
  • It is not a substitute for a permit or PIIA application.
  • It does not replace the work of a professional (architect, technologist, etc.).
  • The decision-making process remains unchanged, including the role of the CCU when required
    • Meetings by appointment only
    • Availability: Wednesdays
    • Maximum duration: 1 hour per meeting
    • Reservations subject to availability (first come, first served)

This service aims to :

  • provide better guidance to citizens right from the start;
  • reduce misunderstandings and adjustments during the process;
  • make it easier for citizens to deal with their municipal affairs.

Citizens remain responsible for providing all the documents required for their project and, if necessary, for commissioning a qualified professional to prepare the plans.

Test phase

This service is offered on a pilot basis. Its use will be evaluated in order to adjust the offer according to observed needs.
