Just like in our own homes, a city sometimes needs to clean up its act. Every year, teams clean and inspect the underground infrastructure to ensure that everything is in tip-top shape.
Cleaning sanitary pipes and street catch basins
Early May to late July, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
This work may cause noise and splashing in some sanitary fixtures. As a preventive measure, we advise you to close the toilet lid during maintenance in your area.
Water system maintenance: flushing of drinking water distribution system and inspection of fire hydrants
Mid-April to early November, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.
This work may cause a temporary drop in water pressure, and the water may turn yellowish, although it remains fit for consumption. If this is the case, we recommend that you let the cold water run until it is colorless again, before drinking it or using it for washing.
