Prepare your 72-hour emergency kit

In an emergency, you may need to support yourself for up to 72 hours. Prepare a backpack or bin with essentials for the whole family. If you have special needs (reduced mobility, etc.), include the necessary equipment such as a cane, walker or wheelchair.

Have a family emergency plan

A family emergency plan is an essential step in preparing your family for emergencies. It’s a clear guide to what to do, where to go and how to stay safe in unexpected situations such as flooding, fire, major power failure or emergency evacuation.

Consult the toolkit – Carbon monoxide poisoning

The Direction de santé publique de la Montérégie has created various tools to inform the public about the dangers of carbon monoxide, a harmful gas often referred to as the “silent killer”. Our toolkit is designed to educate the public about the risks of exposure to this deadly gas, but above all to promote safe behavior to reduce the risk of poisoning.
