Revision of the electoral map: an important step for the representativeness of the citizens of Brossard
Ville de Brossard wishes to inform its citizens that the Commission de la représentation électorale has approved a revision of the electoral map for the 2025 municipal elections. This decision is designed to maintain fair representation of voters across the country.
Updating the electoral map had become necessary due to the continuing growth of Brossard’s population, which currently stands at 95,066. This figure is expected to exceed 100,000 residents over the next few years. When this threshold is reached, a new revision of the electoral map will have to be carried out in 2028 for the 2029 municipal elections.
Brossard is currently divided into 10 electoral districts. However, statistical data received from Élections Québec in January 2024 reveals significant discrepancies in the number of voters between certain districts, requiring a revision to ensure balance. In response, the city undertook a complete review of its electoral map, the first since 2020.
Mayor Doreen Assaad explains: “This revision is essential to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding city. When the population passes the 100,000 mark, Brossard will have to be divided into a minimum of 14 electoral districts, in accordance with current rules.”
The electoral map revision aims to ensure that every citizen is fairly represented, taking into account Brossard’s current and future demographic realities.

The management and distribution of electoral districts is the responsibility of the municipal council, guided by the directives of the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities, which also determines the number of districts required for each municipality.
Electoral district 1
Starting at a point where the northeast municipal boundary meets Autoroute de l’Acier (30), this highway, Boulevard de Rome, the railroad, Autoroute des Cantons-de-l’Est (10), the southeast boundary of the property at 4305 Boulevard Lapinière, the extension of the rear line of rue Cantan (southeast side), the bicycle lane from this rear line to the rear line of rue Chénier (southeast side), the extension of this rear line and the northeast municipal boundary to the point of departure.

Starting at a point where the northeast municipal boundary meets the extension of the rear line of Chénier Street (southeast side), this extension, the bicycle path from this rear line to the rear line of Cantan Street (southeast side), its extension, the southeast boundary of the property located at 4305 de Lapinière Boulevard, the Eastern Townships Autoroute (10), the railroad line, the extension of the northeast boundary of the property at 6240 avenue Boniface, this boundary, the rear line of avenue Boniface (northwest side), the rear line of avenue Bienvenue (southwest side), the southeast boundary of the property at 3550 avenue Bienvenue, the rear line of avenue Béliveau (southeast side), the rear line of Beaumanoir Crescent (southeast side) and the northeast municipal boundary to the point of departure.

Starting from a point where the northeast municipal boundary meets the rear line of Beaumanoir Crescent (southeast side), this rear line, the rear line of Béliveau Avenue (southeast side), the southeast boundary of the property at 3550 Bienvenue Avenue, the rear line of Bienvenue Avenue (southwest side), the rear line of Boniface Avenue (north-west side), the north-east boundary of the property at 6240 Boniface Avenue, its extension, the railroad line, the Eastern Townships Autoroute (10), Taschereau Boulevard, Auteuil Avenue, Lapinière Boulevard, Baillargeon Street and the north-east municipal boundary to the point of departure.
Electoral District 4
Starting at a point where the northeast municipal boundary meets rue Baillargeon, this street, boulevard Lapinière, avenue Auteuil, boulevard Taschereau, boulevard Lapinière and the northeast municipal boundary to the starting point.

From a point where the northern municipal boundary meets avenue Platon, this avenue, rue Palerme, boulevard Pelletier, autoroute des Cantons-de-l’Est (10), pont Samuel-De Champlain and the northern municipal boundary to the point of departure.

From a point at the intersection of boulevard Lapinière and boulevard Taschereau, boulevard Taschereau, boulevard de Rome, avenue Stravinski, avenue Strauss, autoroute René-Lévesque (15), the northern boundary of the property located at 7620, boulevard Marie-Victorin, its extension, the western municipal boundary, the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, the Eastern Townships Autoroute (10), boulevard Pelletier, rue Palerme, avenue Platon, the northern municipal boundary and boulevard Lapinière to the point of departure.

From a point where boulevard de Rome meets boulevard Taschereau, boulevard Taschereau, boulevard Pelletier, avenue Sorbonne, boulevard Rivard, rue Rembrandt (east and south sides), rue Rossignol (south side), its extension, autoroute René-Lévesque (15), avenue Strauss, avenue Stravinski and boulevard de Rome to the starting point.
