Brossard is committed to the development of its parks and recreational facilities, and invests time, money and energy in them. For the common good, to promote the quality of life in our neighborhoods and community living, it’s essential that everyone, regardless of age, adopts an attitude that encourages respectful use of the various facilities.

Taking care of our urban environment is everyone’s business and brings countless benefits to our community and our planet. By taking the time to pick up after our dogs, put garbage in the garbage cans or recycling garbage cans, and maintain our facilities, we help keep our neighborhoods clean and comfortable.

Small gestures… of great importance

Did you know that even a small gesture like leaving an apple core in a park can have an impact on local wildlife? Although fruit is natural, its presence in an environment where it is not normally found can attract insects, disrupt the ecological balance and alter the feeding habits of wild animals. Let’s get into the habit of disposing of waste in the right place. This will protect the health of local wildlife and the landscape from waste.

Clean up your park, because it’s ours too

By preserving street furniture such as benches and play areas, and reducing the volume of our music in communal spaces, we’re investing in the well-being of our community by providing safe, welcoming spaces for all. Every gesture counts, and every positive action we take helps preserve the beauty and vitality of our community for future generations.

This offensive is aimed at all users of the parks, skate park, sports fields and dog park. Targeted signage is planned throughout the region, mainly at problem locations.

By renewing its campaign for a third year, the city hopes, among other things, to encourage everyone to take care of the city’s common spaces and facilities, to increase citizens’ sense of pride in their facilities and, finally, to promote living together.

Vandalism is expensive!

Year in, year out, vandalism-related expenses reach over $100,000, whether it’s replacing damaged plants or broken windows, damaged garbage cans, picnic tables, park benches or play modules, burnt chemical toilets or vandalized sports fields.

In recent years, the cost of bad citizenship on our territory has increased.

Increasingly high unit costs

Not immune to inflation, a considerable increase in unit costs for the purchase of street furniture was observed between 2021 and 2023, reaching just over 83%.
