BROSSARD, July 9, 2025 – The City of Brossard is taking another step towards improving traffic flow and mobility on Lapinière Boulevard, between Taschereau Boulevard and the Chevrier parking lot. This strategic area, which is heavily used by motorists, pedestrians and cyclists, presents a number of challenges in terms of congestion and accessibility.

To this end, the municipal council is requesting authorization from the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable to encroach on the right-of-way of Autoroute 10 (A-10) to allow the widening of boulevard Lapinière.

“This authorization is an essential element in resolving the congestion problem, which is having a considerable impact on the mobility of the people of Brossard and the surrounding area. Citizens have repeatedly told us at our meetings and during consultations that this situation represents a major irritant for their quality of life,” stated Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad.

That’s why Ville de Brossard will be carrying out a complete traffic study of the entire boulevard Lapinière. This study aims to :

  • optimize lane configuration and traffic movements;
  • assess the feasibility of widening the boulevard to more than one lane in each direction;
  • propose the addition of bicycle or multifunctional links;
  • identify concrete solutions at congestion points, notably at the intersections with Leduc, Malo, Bergerac and Milan.

“With this action, the municipal council is reiterating its commitment to modernizing its infrastructure. We want to act quickly to improve traffic flow and provide the population with safe, accessible infrastructure for all road users,” adds the mayor.
