Ville de Brossard celebrates its volunteers at the Gala de l’action bénévole

Nearly 800 people gathered at the Michel-Normandin arena on Saturday, May 4 for the Gala de l’action bénévole, an annual event organized by the Ville de Brossard. This gala highlights the important contribution of volunteers who work tirelessly to improve the quality of life in Brossard, touching citizens of all ages.

Hosted by the renowned and likeable Gino Chouinard, this festive and convivial event enabled volunteers to meet and enjoy a great evening. After the awards ceremony and dinner, Luce Dufault’s performance charmed the audience.

Addressing the audience, Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard, declared: “In you, we see the beating heart of our city. Each of your actions reveals your crucial role, weaving the bonds that strengthen our social fabric. Together, we can build a bright future for Brossard.

During the evening, 8 volunteers and organizations were honored for their outstanding commitment to the community:

  • Robert Bergevin and Ani Ménard were awarded the Mayor’s Prize.
  • Michel Mainville and Lise Bonneville received the Aîné en mouvement award.
  • Andrea Borodenko and Irène Costamis were awarded the Committed Citizen prize.
  • Steve Ranco was honored with the Emerging Volunteer Award for his commitment.
  • Arthrite Rive-Sud was awarded the Innovaction prize for its innovative initiatives.
