Brossard invites Québec’s professional artists to take part in a prestigious competition to create a work of public art.
Ville de Brossard invites professional artists from across Québec to take part in a prestigious competition to create a three-dimensional work of public art. The work will be installed outside the brand-new Centre multigénérationnel, an innovative and inclusive space currently under construction, designed by Neuf architect(e)s.
Designed for the entire population, the Centre multigénérationnel de Brossard will be a place for meeting, sharing and intergenerational solidarity. Offering a varied program of cultural, sporting and recreational activities, this modern building will incorporate a gymnasium, paths, playrooms and a bicycle path linking to the municipal network.
The work must be contemporary, accessible and long-lasting, while embodying Brossard’s fundamental values of inclusiveness and intergenerational exchange. Designed to be a striking visual landmark thanks to its imposing height, it must also harmonize with the architecture of the Centre and its surroundings.
“This work will reflect Brossard’s distinctive identity, a place where generations meet in a spirit of solidarity. It embodies our commitment to making public art a vehicle for bringing our community together and inspiring it,” said Mayor Doreen Assaad.
The total budget for this project is $200,000 before tax, including an allocation of $6,500 before tax for each of the three finalists to develop their proposal.
Interested artists should submit their application by March 5, 2025, to [email protected], with “Centre multigénérationnel de Brossard” in the subject line.
