18 September 2024 Last update 17/05/2025

Ville de Brossard is delighted to welcome Éric Labelle as Assistant General Manager – Land Management and Sustainable Development. His main mandate will be to plan and coordinate the city’s development with its various internal and external partners over the coming years.

Mr. Labelle will be responsible for the Technical Services, Urban Planning and Environment Departments, including the Planning and Urban Planning Department, and the new Environment and Sustainable Development Department. He will also be responsible for the new Development Department. Brossard has thus given itself the means to realize its strategic vision of the city’s development, which is intended to be coherent, well thought-out, equitable and progressive, always with the aim of offering the population a highly sought-after quality of life.

It’s a return for Éric Labelle to the Ville de Brossard, having already served as Director of Operational Intelligence & Innovations from 2014 to 2019. A manager and master of innovation, Mr. Labelle brings with him a wealth of experience in management and economic development. He was Director of Economic Development Services for the City of Montreal, implementing a number of economic development plans and policies while developing strong relationships with key regional and international economic partners.

Éric Labelle has a solid background in project management and management from HEC. He is Regional Chair of the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference, a member of the MTL + ECommerce Board of Directors, and a former Vice-Chair of the IVÉO Expérimentation d’Innovations Board of Directors.

Founded in 1958, the city of Brossard has experienced significant growth in recent years, thanks in part to its proximity to the metropolis, the arrival of major shopping malls (Mail Champlain and DIX30), the construction of the Solar district, the arrival of REM, the proximity of major highways and plans for a future downtown, all of which point to an unprecedented transformation of the area. The arrival of Éric Labelle in October, with his expertise in economic development and municipal and government affairs, makes him ideally suited to meet the challenges facing the city today.
