Vaccination passport mandatory as of September 1 | Brossard to control access to its recreational buildings

26 August 2021 Last update 17/05/2025

Persons aged 13 and over must present proof of vaccination and an ID card to enter a recreational building.

As of September1, in compliance with government directives, all persons aged 13 and over will be required to show proof of vaccination, as well as a photo ID card, in order to enter Ville de Brossard recreational buildings, including parents and chaperones of young participants.

Targeted recreational buildings include the Michel-Normandin arena, the aquatic complex, the Alphonse-Lepage sociocultural center, the Radisson and Grand Parc urbain cottages, the five (5) community centers and access to recreational activities taking place in one of the territory’s schools. A list of all buildings covered by this measure is available at brossard.ca/covid19.

Registration for activities starts this Saturday, August 28

As registration begins for the fall activity session, the Town wishes to inform the public that it will rigorously apply this government directive, and reminds those who are not yet fully vaccinated to do so in order to participate in a sports, recreational or cultural activity offered by the Town or one of its recognized organizations.

To consult the fall activities program and find out how to register, visit brossard.ca/activites.

A winning combination: QR code + ID card

Brossardites, like all Quebecers, can download the new VaxiCode application, already available on the App Store and soon on Google Play. The application can be used to scan the QR code already received following the second dose of vaccine, demonstrating that the person is adequately protected and will be able to access their recreational activity. It’s important to remember that people can also bring paper proof of their QR code.

In addition to the QR code, everyone must present a photo ID card to confirm their identity. Children under the age of 13 will also need to show proof of identity to confirm their age, and thus their exemption from proof of vaccination.

Library: details of access and support services offered

Please note that access to the Brossard Georgette-Lepage library remains free, with the exception of the Fab Lab and any group activities that may be held in the animation room. Library staff will also be on hand to support citizens who need help printing their proof of vaccination, or to accompany them over the phone.

Plan your travel

Please note that delays may be caused by this new access control measure. We therefore recommend arriving early to take full advantage of the activity.

QR Code + ID = A Winning Combination

Brossard residents, like the rest of Quebec’s population, may already download the new VaxiCode app from the App Store, and it will soon be available from Google Play. This app enables you to make a digital version of the QR code provided after receiving the second dose of the vaccine, which indicates that you are adequately protected and may access the recreational activity of your choice. It is important to remember that you may also present a printed version of your QR code at any time.

Along with your QR code, you will need to present a piece of photo ID in order to prove your identity. It should also be noted that children younger than 13 must also provide proof of their identity to confirm that they are exempt from presenting proof of vaccination based on their age.

Details Regarding Library Access and Support Services

The Brossard Georgette-Lepage library will remain accessible to the general public, except for the Fab Lab and any group activities held in the event room. What’s more, library staff will be able to assist residents who need help printing their proof of vaccination or provide them with support by phone.

Plan Your Outings

Please note that the new access control measure may cause delays. It’s therefore recommended that you arrive in advance of your activity’s scheduled start time to ensure you will be able to take full advantage of it.
