Gas leak in Brossard

Evacuation notice lifted at Quartier Dix30

Brossard, July 30, 2019 – The evacuation notice, affecting restaurants in Brossard’s Quartier Dix30, has now been lifted. Ville de Brossard has received official confirmation from the Service de sécurité incendie de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SSIAL) and Energir (Gaz Métro) that the leak has been plugged and that air quality has returned to normal.

All employees on the streets affected by the notice were able to return home safely from 3:30 p.m. onwards. Traffic and public transport will once again be able to flow in the area concerned.

The town would like to highlight the exceptional work of the emergency teams, who acted with skill and diligence to ensure the safety of its citizens.
This morning, a gas pipe was severed during construction work on the Quartier viaduct. This was quickly plugged with the help of the SSIAL and Energir’s intervention units.
