In solidarity with the people of Charlevoix, the families and loved ones affected by the loss of the two local volunteer firefighters, the Ville de Brossard lowered its flags in front of City Hall to half-mast. This tragedy, which led to the deaths of Christopher Lavoie and Régis Lavoie as they tried to help citizens during the flooding in Saint-Urbain, leaves no one indifferent.
“I am deeply saddened by this tragedy, which took the lives of two firefighters who were trying to lend a helping hand to their fellow citizens. The dedication of volunteer firefighters is essential to the safety of our citizens, and the bravery of these men is more than honourable. On behalf of all the members of the Municipal Council and the City’s staff, and on behalf of all the people of Brossard, I would like to extend my most sincere condolences to the bereaved families,” declared Mayor Doreen Assaad.
