The City of Brossard lowered its flags to half-mast this morning in memory of Karl Tremblay, lead singer of Les Cowboys Fringants, who will be honored by his thousands of fans at a national tribute ceremony at the Bell Centre this evening.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of this icon of Quebec song. Karl Tremblay left an immense legacy to Quebec. He leaves behind not only his family, but also the people of Quebec and many admirers throughout the French-speaking world. On behalf of all the members of the municipal council and the staff of the City of Brossard, I join with the people of Brossard in offering my most sincere condolences to the bereaved family and friends. Karl will remain forever in our hearts, and our thoughts will be with him every time we hear one of his performances”, declared Mayor Doreen Assaad.
