The City of Brossard will lower its flags tomorrow in memory of Jean-Pierre Ferland.
The City of Brossard will fly its flags at half-mast tomorrow in memory of Jean-Pierre Ferland, Quebec singer-songwriter, whose state funeral will be held on Saturday, June1, at the Basilique Cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde, in Montreal.
“We have recently lost a great man, an endearing figure who was loved by all. An author, composer and performer, Mr. Ferland was a unique and multi-talented artist. This kind-hearted man left us a rich musical legacy that is now part of our cultural heritage. He is survived not only by his family, but also by all the people of Quebec and his many admirers. On behalf of the entire City Council and City staff, I would like to offer my most sincere condolences to the bereaved family and friends. Jean-Pierre Ferland will remain an icon of Quebec song, and his interpretations will always be among the most beautiful and inspiring,” said Mayor Doreen Assaad.
