Ville de Brossard welcomes the decision of the Commission de la représentation électorale regarding the revision of the electoral map of Ville de Brossard for the 2025 elections.
Last June, Mayor Doreen Assaad stressed the importance of this update in order to maintain a fair representation of voters. Brossard currently has a population of 95,066, and with the city’s continued growth, this number will soon exceed 100,000 residents. This means that a new revision of the electoral map will be necessary in 2028 for the 2029 elections.
Ville de Brossard is currently divided into 10 electoral districts. According to statistical data received from Élections Québec in January 2024, the number of electors in four (4) of these districts will have to be revised. The city therefore took the opportunity to review the electoral map for its entire territory, an exercise that had not been carried out since 2020.
“We welcome this decision, which will allow our city to adapt smoothly. Our population is expected to pass the 100,000 mark in the next few years. When we cross this threshold, our territory will have to have a minimum number of 14 electoral districts,” says Doreen Assaad.
The new electoral map will soon be available on the Ville de Brossard website.
