World event kicks off in Brossard

The Ville de Brossard invites the public to get ready for an exceptional event as the UCI Montréal 2026 Road World Championships put Greater Montréal on the international map from September 20 to 27, 2026.

Considered the biggest sporting event to be staged in Quebec since the 1976 Olympic Games, this international event will bring together some 1,000 of the world’s most eminent male and female athletes from over 80 countries, and will captivate over 200 million television viewers across 140 countries.

In Brossard, the event will take on a very special dimension: the Elite Women’s and Elite Men’s events will start on the territory on September 26 and 27, 2026. The city will thus be at the heart of one of the highlights of this global sporting event.

“Brossard will not only be a city crossed by the course: it will be the starting point for two flagship events of the Championships. This is an exceptional opportunity to showcase our region, our hospitality and our community. I invite everyone to seize this unique opportunity to experience the event up close and personal,” says Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.

Over 150 volunteers needed

The Ville de Brossard is looking for over 150 volunteers to help make the event a success in Brossard.

The successful candidates will be able to support the teams on the ground in welcoming, orienting and providing information to visitors, as well as supporting the citizen and spectator experience.

Whether it’s a passion for sport, a commitment to the community or simply a desire to experience a world event from the inside, volunteers will play a vital role in welcoming citizens, visitors, spectators and athletes alike.

“Volunteers will be an integral part of the Brossard team. Their presence will contribute directly to providing a welcoming, seamless and memorable experience for all those who will experience this event on our territory. It’s a great way to proudly represent Brossard at this historic event,” adds the mayor.

Practical information to come

Over the coming months, Ville de Brossard will be gradually releasing information specific to the territory, including information on access, travel, observation zones, public transit, parking and temporary traffic obstructions.
