In Brossard, safety takes the wheel!
Ville de Brossard rolls out the third phase of its “La sécurité routière, un jeu d’enfant?” campaign. This offensive is distinguished by an innovative approach based on awareness-raising, education and partnerships.
” Every day, children cross our streets to go to school.walk to the park, families ride their bikes. Their safety must be a priorityobvious. At Brossard, we take this commitment to heart. Thiscampaign is much more than a municipal initiative: it’s a promise to those we love,” says Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.
Four concrete actions deployed in the field
1. Une forte présence dans l’espace public
Throughout June, the “C’est fragile. Slow down” campaign will be visible on bus shelters across the region. The city is also continuing its grass sign offensive, available free of charge at the Services Brossard counter at city hall, for citizens wishing to make their streets safer.
2. An interactive and educational quiz at brossard.ca/quiz
The population of Brussells is invited to test its knowledge with the brand new quiz ” La sécurité routière, un jeu d’enfant? Fun and interactive, this game is a great way to challenge friends and family.
” This campaign stands out for its ability to reach citizens where they are: in their daily lives, in their neighborhoods, on their screens. The interactive quiz, grass posters and visual displays throughout the region are concrete ways of raising awareness in an innovative, accessible and engaging way. “says Stéphanie Quintal, Sector A Councillor and Chair of the Communications and Information Systems Committee.
3. A first in the region: free distribution of bicycle mirrors
To increase cyclist safety, the city will be distributing 100 free bike mirrors, available at the Services Brossard counter at city hall, on a first-come, first-served basis.
4. Concrete involvement of learner drivers: partnership with CAA and Tecnic
In a unique collaboration with CAA and Tecnic Brossard driving schools, 150 first-aid kits will be handed out to those completing a driving course in June (car, motorcycle or moped). A symbolic signature of commitment to responsible behavior will accompany the presentation of a first-aid kit donated by the City.
” By distributing free bike mirrors and working with partners like CAA and Tecnic, we’re focusing on concrete actions that have an immediate impact. These initiatives illustrate our determination to actively involve local players in a collective effort to make our streets safer for everyone. “says Patrick Langlois, municipal councillor for the P-V sector and chairman of the Sustainable Mobility Committee.
With this third phase, the city confirms its leadership and commitment to making Brossard a model for local road safety. By combining concrete action and citizen participation, this campaign aims to transform behavior in a sustainable way.
