The latest edition of Saveurs des Fêtes, organized by the City of Brossard, welcomed several thousand visitors.
Brossard, November 30, 2021 – The latest edition of Saveurs des Fêtes, organized by the Ville de Brossard, welcomed several thousand visitors over the weekends of November 19, 20, 21 and 26, 27, 28 at the Centre Socioculturel Alphonse-Lepage and the Georgette-Lepage Brossard Library. And all within a safe framework that complies with health guidelines. More families were among the visitors, especially at the increasingly popular Salon des tendances créatives. The second weekend brought 50% new exhibitors with different products.
“It was wonderful to see Brossard residents at Brossard’s festive, creative and gourmet event. What a joy to see families participating in a host of activities planned by the Salon des métiers d’art, the Salon des tendances créatives and the site des produits gourmands,” said Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.
The eagerly awaited Salon des métiers d’art de Brossard
The curious and the regulars of this popular activity were able to make original finds in a festive atmosphere. Over 50 local and regional artisans displayed their talents and creativity to the delight of visitors looking for unique gifts. For each weekend, a “Coup de cœur du public” award was presented to the most outstanding artisan, following a compilation of visitor votes. The winners, Marie-Claude Denault | Ceramic Bas-relief and Pierre Fourneaux | Woodturner, each won a free booth space for the 2022 edition.
Awe-inspiring at the Salon des tendances créatives
Increasingly well-known and sought-after, this unique show featured workshops and demonstrations straight from the imaginations of the tinkerers and designers present at the Salon des tendances créatives. Children and families were treated to a 3D immersion experience, the making of a functional sculpture, a knitting bike and more. The video and audio production workshops presented by SAT on the first weekend, and the Lego-based robot-building workshops offered by Young Engineers on the second, were sold out and delighted young technology and robotics enthusiasts.
Even more enchanting was the conference L’expérience de la création, broadcast live with internationally-renowned engineer-physicist Théo Jansen, on Saturday November 20, which attracted many curious and passionate visitors. The Dutch artist presented his creative journey and his astonishing kinetic sculptures. On the other hand, the extremely popular Imagirobot exhibition attracted a host of enthusiasts during the show. The Renée-Blain gallery, located in the Alphonse-Lepage sociocultural center, will continue to exhibit the works of the four artists on the theme of robots until January 31, 2022.
An assault on the urban gourmet site
The warm and magical outdoor site featured a spectacular alley of containers transformed into artisan spaces for specialized producers. Visitors happily wandered around to meet some twenty local and regional exhibitors for their shopping and gourmet discoveries.
Four great visual adventures in Brossard!
Finally, in collaboration with local partners, four of the city’s neighborhoods offered up a series of impressive Christmas illuminations adapted to each environment: the City Hall and Brossard Library area, the Avenue des lumières in Quartier DIX30, the outdoor space of Mail Champlain and the new Solar Uniquartier / Grand parc urbain urban environment.
The stage is set for the Saveurs des Fêtes 2022 event. See you next year!
