Semaine de l’action bénévole 2021 | Brossard highlights the invaluable contribution of its volunteers

16 April 2021 Last update 17/05/2025

All week long, Ville de Brossard will be featuring portraits of these kind-hearted people on its website.

From April 18 to 24, Brossard will be celebrating Volunteer Week, an initiative of the Fédération des centers d’action bénévole du Québec (FCABQ). This theme week is an opportunity for Brossard’s city council to recognize and salute all the volunteers who work for organizations recognized by the city, and who make a difference in the community every day.

“Volunteering has always been an essential service to people in need or in precarious situations. Over the past year, the pandemic has made us even more aware of the crying need for volunteer involvement in the service of the most vulnerable population, whose needs continue to grow. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who give of themselves in the service of their fellow man”, declared Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.

All week long, the Ville de Brossard website will feature portraits of these kind-hearted people who have distinguished themselves within their organizations, or who have contributed to the unprecedented community efforts deployed in our fight against COVID-19. All of them, in their own way, embody benevolence, solidarity and the best that humanity has to offer. You’ll find these inspiring testimonials in video capsules from April 19 and throughout the week at brossard.ca/sab.

The members of the municipal council also take this opportunity to invite Brossard residents to offer a little of their time to an organization or cause close to their hearts. According to a FCABQ survey of volunteers who worked during the COVID-19 pandemic, 77% of respondents felt that just being involved had a direct impact on their psychological well-being. This confirms the adage: “Giving feels good”.
