Season 2023-2024 | New exhibitions in Brossard

08 September 2023 Last update 17/05/2025

Ville de Brossard presents the new season of art exhibitions for 2023-2024. Starting today, citizens are invited to come and immerse themselves in the works of art that will be on display at the Hall des Arts, located at Brossard City Hall, and at the Mur-mur des arts space, located at the Bibliothèque de Brossard Georgette-Lepage. Starting on September 22, an outdoor exhibition will also be open to the public at Place de Gare, located in the Solar district.

The 2023-2024 season will feature 18 visual arts exhibitions. The program is online at brossard.ca/expos. To keep you interested in discovering the talent of this year’s featured artists, here’s an overview of the exhibitions opening in September.

September 8 to October 26 – Hall des Arts

The dance of colors | Zoya Tavangar

Brossard painter Zoya Tavangar has a keen interest in teaching human bodies and faces, as well as paintings of animals and other living creatures. Drawing women and female faces is a spiritual activity for her, as she believes that women are one of the most beautiful creations. Throughout the centuries, women have been oppressed and mistreated. So now is the time for the world to hear their voice and promote the value and glory of female creation.

September 8 to October 29 – Espace Mur-mur des arts

Miroir exquis | Maya Cardin

Maya Cardin’s etchings invite us to slow down and take a closer look at nature’s patterns, allowing us to appreciate our shared connection with our environment and with each other. Her colorful, meticulously detailed works are a great way to discover the medium of printmaking. Miroir Exquis refers to the moment in printmaking when an impression is drawn from the wood block, creating a mirror effect like magnificent wings flapping before your eyes. It also refers to the way we see ourselves reflected in the natural world. Far from being separated from nature, human beings are part of nature, interconnected and interdependent. The natural world is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. This exhibition invites you to slow down and take a closer look at the structures and patterns of nature, allowing for contemplation and a deep appreciation of our shared connection with our environment and with each other.

September 22 to November 5 – Place de la Gare, Solar district

An aura of modernity | Thierry Dubois

In this new photographic project devoted to the Solar district, Thierry du Bois explores the luminous language of an innovative neighborhood that advocates sustainability, mixed-use and resists urban sprawl against a backdrop of climate issues.

By contrasting the architectural lines of buildings with a blurred nocturnal ambience, he seeks to capture the tension that exists between the human ambition to inscribe ourselves in space and our fleeting presence in the world, like “an aura of modernity”.

September 29 to November 5 – Galerie Renée-Blain

Portraits-Robots | Étienne Cyr and Ernesto Reategui

These two inventive and ingenious designers transform materials into surprising robotic forms! Étienne Cyr uses obsolete objects from the past and combines them to shape robotic characters from the future with his nimble sculptor/recoverer fingers. Ernesto Reategui creates striking oil paintings of colorful characters, challenging the dilemmas of the digital revolution and the place of new technologies in artistic expression.

You’ll marvel at these playful, intriguing and impressive creations! Between bolts and gears, scraps and pigments, robots are waiting for you! Exhibition presented as part of Perform ART.
