We’re delighted to invite you to the 8th edition of Pet Day on June 4.
Ville de Brossard is pleased to invite pet lovers once again to Pet Day on Saturday, June 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Michel-Normandin arena. This event promotes good behavior, commitment and responsible adoption awareness towards our canine and feline friends.
Under the aegis of our spokesperson for a2nd edition, comedian and host Stéphane Fallu, well known for his programs on the animal world (Refuge animal) and, above all, for his love of animals, the event brings together some thirty experts in one place who are committed to the well-being and health of animals. Pet Day also offers visitors lectures, agility shows, canine detection demonstrations and practical advice to help everyone, young and old, learn more about pets.
Adopt good behavior!
This year, visitors will be able to meet with canine and feline behaviorists to perfect the behaviors of their four-legged ball of love and better understand them.
Exhibitors will include, among others:
- Educazoo, to educate visitors about the needs of exotic animals: aquatic turtles, leopard geckos, bearded dragons, rabbits, ferrets and chinchillas;
- the Canada Border Services Agency, which will be giving canine detection demonstrations;
- l’Univers de Shelby, featuring agility shows;
- Some animal shelters presenting their residents. However, it is not possible to confirm in advance how many animals will be available for adoption at the event.
Last but not least, a food truck, the Schnitzel Truck, will be on hand to satiate gourmands. So it’s a whole day on the menu for animal lovers.
Animals not allowed inside
Please note that to reduce stress for animals at shelter booths, visitors’ animals will not be accepted on site, except for those in the micropiping section only. Identified guardians will be on hand to watch over your freshly microchipped furry friends as you visit the exhibitor booths.
Microchip registration required
You can have your pet microchipped by SPCA Roussillon veterinarians. Owners must register their cat or dog online with JAC beforehand. The deadline is May 15. The cost of microchipping is $27.50 per animal (online payment). Places are limited.
In recent years, the event has helped hundreds of animals find new homes. Through this day, the Town wishes to provide everyone with the tools they need to perfect their pet’s education, because an animal is for life!
Admission to the event is free, accessible and safe. The city complies with the sanitary standards set by the Quebec government and Public Health. Michel-Normandin arena is located at 3105, boulevard de Rome. For more information, visit JAC or contact Services Brossard at 450 923-6311.
