RED alert level in the Greater Montreal area
Ville de Brossard adjusts its service offer to new Public Health guidelines
Brossard, September 30, 2020 – Following the Prime Minister’s announcement at a press conference on Monday evening, in connection with the switch to the red alert level – maximum alert – for cities in the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM), Ville de Brossard will adjust its service offering as of tomorrow, October 1, to comply with the new directives from the Direction de la santé publique.
In the wake of this announcement, the Mayor of Brossard, Doreen Assaad, issued a heartfelt appeal to the people of Brossard: “I urge everyone to heed the call of the Premier of Quebec and contribute to this collective effort. Through our individual actions, we have the power to turn the tide and make a real impact. I’m confident that together, we’ll get through this ordeal and emerge stronger, more united and healthier.”
Library closed and return of contactless loan service
Interior access to the Brossard Georgette-Lepage Library will be closed until authorized by Public Health authorities. In the meantime, the city will be reintroducing the contactless loan service, which is a good alternative for borrowing books in complete security. The book chute also remains open for the return of documents. To find out more about contactless loans: brossard.ca/contactlessloans.
The library’s digital resources remain available at brossard.ca/biblio/numerique. Similarly, some of the activities scheduled for the coming month will be offered virtually. Details to follow on the Library’s Facebook page.

Autumn activities: strict health standards to be met
Even before the zone was declared red, the City of Brossard had already restricted its activity groups to fewer than 25 participants, and implemented strict sanitary measures such as the wearing of masks at all times for its personnel.
The city’s priority is to maintain a balance between complying with government regulations and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for its population. In this context, the fall activity session will be maintained. In addition, the sports and aquatic activities planned by the City or its partner organizations at the arena, indoor pools and community centers will continue, in compliance with sanitary measures.
Only free outdoor fitness classes, free activities and meetings of organizations or citizens in municipal buildings will be cancelled to comply with Public Health instructions required by the maximum alert level (red zone).
The City is closely monitoring the situation and will promptly communicate any changes via its social networks, the activites website and by bciti text message.
Citizen services at City Hall: by appointment only
The city strongly encourages residents to use online services at Brossard or to contact Services Brossard for any questions or services.

Brussel’s beginners to support
The city invites its citizens to support the Brossard companies and businesses that create jobs here and that have gone through – and are still going through – difficult times. Whether it’s through take-out orders in restaurants, safe visits to shops or online shopping, every gesture counts.
On September 21, the City of Brossard unveiled a new digital showcase accessible via the bciti application . Called eco Local, it’s an interactive map that lets you quickly and easily find the nearly 1,500 businesses that shape Brossard’s economic vitality.
To access it, simply go to brossard.eco-local.ca or click on the eco-local menu on the bciti application home page. An interactive map is then displayed, showing the location of goods and services businesses in Brossard.
