Project for the future approved on boulevard Taschereau

15 February 2022 Last update 17/05/2025

At this evening’s regular meeting, the municipal council ratified the recommendations of the Comité Consultatif d’Urbanisme (CCU) concerning site planning and architectural integration.

Among the approved projects is Site Planning and Architectural Integration Program (SPAIP) 2021-00161, located at 7480 Taschereau Boulevard, for the erection of an eight (8)-storey mixed-use building with seventy-three (73) residential units and commercial suites on the first floor.

This request, which complies with the standards of the Town’s urban planning bylaws, is the third improved version of this project to have been previously presented to the CCU, and incorporates the recommendations made by the CCU and the Town Council. The project is also in line with the city council’s goal of revitalizing boulevard Taschereau.

Furthermore, the Board’s acceptance of this project is subject to the builder’s compliance with the following conditions:

  • That the applicant assume the cost of modifying the existing infrastructure on the property (storm pipe to be relocated) and ensure acceptance of a municipal works agreement prior to issuance of a permit;
  • to comply with the plan annotated by the Direction de l’urbanisme dated November 23, 2021;
  • to present the concept of the artwork to be integrated into the project as an information item at a subsequent meeting of the CCU, all within thirty-six (36) months of project approval.

“In the context of the imminent arrival of the REM in Brossard, this project embodies the commercial and residential mix sought in the vicinity of the Panama TOD area, while meeting the city’s sustainable development criteria. The majority of the elected members of the municipal council and myself are in favour of this project, which represents the future of Taschereau Boulevard, in terms of both modernity and mobility”, concluded Mayor Doreen Assaad.

The project also includes a greening phase and the planting of numerous trees, which will contribute to bringing a greener touch to Taschereau.
