Ville de Brossard has decided to ban the use and installation of the TikTok application on its own devices.
Following recommendations from the federal and provincial governments, and in order to ensure the protection of the data it holds, the City of Brossard has decided to ban the use and installation of the TikTok application on its own devices (iPhone, iPad, laptop, etc.), following the example of several cities across Quebec.
As of today, Friday, March 10, the City is therefore prohibiting the installation and use of the TikTok application on its various telephony and computing devices used by City employees and elected officials, until the risks associated with the use of this platform are fully understood.
Although there is no evidence that the application poses a threat to the security of personal information, the municipal administration is committed to ensuring information security and data protection. The City also suspends its business account.
