Two Brossard projects certified GOLD
The City of Brossard is proud to announce that two of its major projects have been awarded GOLD Certification by the jury of the 18th edition of the Grands Prix du Design, an international distinction that recognizes excellence in architecture, design and urban planning.
Le Plan particulier d’urbanisme (PPU) du centre-ville, adopté en 2024, et la Caserne 44, mise en service le 28 février 2024, figurent désormais parmi les finalistes de ce prestigieux concours.
In addition to this recognition, the public is invited to vote from now until October 1, 2025 to support these projects in the People’s Choice Award.
These two projects are in the running for three additional awards: the Grand Laureate, the Award of the Year and the People’s Choice Award, given to the project receiving the highest number of online votes by October 1, 2025.
Structuring projects for the community
PPU downtown
The Downtown PPU embodies an ambitious, integrated urban vision that aims to transform a strategic 164-hectare area into a true city center. The plan, developed in collaboration with L’Atelier urbain, calls for the creation of complete neighborhoods, totaling over 12,000 homes, and is based on the principles of sustainable mobility, mixed use, greenness and quality of life.
Barracks 44
Caserne 44, located at 2655 boulevard Matte in Brossard, is a new-generation institutional infrastructure. Built in collaboration with Groupe Leclerc architecture + design and under the responsibility of the Agglomération de Longueuil, it stands out as the first fire station in Quebec to offer a complete decontamination pathway. Designed to the highest standards of performance, functionality and durability, it provides exemplary working conditions for fire safety personnel.
International recognition
“These awards reflect Brossard’s ability to innovate and carry out projects that contribute to the population’s quality of life, while affirming our commitment to sustainable urban planning and modern infrastructure,” said Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad. “We invite the public and our partners to support our projects by taking part in the People’s Choice Award vote.”

About the Grands Prix du Design
The Grands Prix du Design is an international competition that recognizes the excellence of professionals and organizations working in architecture and design. GOLD certifications are awarded to projects that score over 80 points in the assessment by an internationally renowned jury. The awards ceremony will take place at the Gala on November 13, 2025.
