Hydro-Québec and the City met on June 19 to discuss work to improve service quality.
Yesterday morning, Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard, and Antoine Assaf, City Councillor for Sector R, visited Sorbonne Park to see the progress of work by the Hydro-Québec team to replace a faulty circuit breaker. This work, eagerly awaited by the people of Brussells, is part of an action plan to improve the network and consequently reduce the frequency of power cuts.
On June 28, elected officials met with Hydro-Québec representatives to obtain explanations concerning the numerous power outages in Brossard. Following this meeting, Hydro-Québec put in place a plan to eliminate the problems at source.
“Discussions with Hydro-Québec are bearing fruit. Teams are on the ground. They’re repairing the network. We see them at work on the streets and in the parks,” says Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.
The mayor adds that outages planned by the state-owned company in order to carry out work on the network are inevitable. “It’s possible that planned outages will still occur in order to carry out the work. I’ve asked Hydro-Québec to inform the public,” she assures us.
“In addition to carrying out urgent repairs on our equipment, our teams are currently inspecting all problem lines in priority sectors. At the same time, we are making progress with our maintenance work on vegetation near the network. Occasional outages are normal, but we recognize the particular problem we’ve had in recent weeks, and we’re concentrating all necessary resources on improving the quality of service for residents in quartier 2,” explains Dominique Venne, Hydro-Québec’s network maintenance manager.
