A major power outage is currently affecting the Brossard area. This incident was caused by an accident involving a bus, which collided with a 315 kV electricity pylon at the intersection of Chemin Chambly and Autoroute 30.
Due to this breakdown, all outdoor pools, paddling pools, water games and the aquatic complex are closed until further notice. The swimming lessons have been cancelled, and the City will contact participants to find out how they can resume. The library is also closed.
Power restoration could take several hours. Ville de Brossard is asking residents to contact friends and relatives who may be able to provide temporary lodging while Hydro-Québec crews rectify the situation.
