The work represents a total investment of $20,914,000 and is scheduled to start in late summer 2024.

Brossard, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 – At its January 16 meeting, Brossard City Council adopted the tabling of draft bylaws to authorize the replacement of aquatic facilities at Champlain and Vanier parks. These projects, included in the 2024-2026 three-year capital expenditure program (PTI), represent a total investment of $20,914,000, with work scheduled to start in late summer 2024.

“2024 is off to a great start with the confirmation of new, modern aquatic facilities in Champlain and Vanier parks! We can’t emphasize enough how important parks and green spaces are to the health and well-being of our communities. That’s why we’re pursuing our commitment to providing a gathering place where all Brossardites can thrive and fully enjoy their living environment,” emphasized Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad.

The new facilities will bring the parks’ aquatic services up to date with needs that have evolved considerably since the initial development. The work planned for the two parks includes :

  • construction of a new pool with beach entrance;
  • a green beach;
  • a new, more spacious service building;
  • facilities that will be universally accessible;
  • water games available on an extended schedule.

It should be noted that the Champlain Park service building will also be used in winter for the needs of the skating rink located in the park.
