The Ordre du mérite de Brossard was held on April 13, during which three recipients were honoured.
Yesterday evening, at the Alphonse-Lepage sociocultural center, the prestigious Ordre du mérite de Brossard ceremony was held, during which three new Brossard laureates were honored. The evening recognizes citizens who have distinguished themselves in an exceptional way in their field of expertise, by awarding them the highest distinction the city bestows on citizens: the Ordre du mérite de Brossard medal.
Mayor Doreen Assaad, accompanied by several city councillors, presided over the evening and was pleased to pay tribute to the award winners for their contribution to the Brussells community.
We unveil the winners of the 2023 Order of Merit:
- Mrs. Ketlyn Maitland-Blades (community and humanitarian sectors), presented by city councillor Mrs. Tina Del Vecchio (sector B). Mrs. Maitland-Blades has distinguished herself through over 35 years of volunteer involvement in the community, and her boundless dedication to promoting humanitarian causes.
- Ms. Zinaida Varosian (educational and cultural sectors), presented by city councillor Patrick Langlois (P-V sectors). Ms. Varosian was honoured for her boundless passion for music and dazzling talent for teaching piano, which have had a positive impact on hundreds of students, encouraging them to succeed and win national and international prizes.
- Mr. Martin Forcier (community and humanitarian sectors), presented by city councillor Mr. Antoine Assaf (sector R). For his part, Mr. Forcier received the Ordre du mérite medal for his dedication to drowning prevention and his generous volunteer work for nearly 30 years with the Lifesaving Society of Quebec and Canada.
The city would like to warmly congratulate the three (3) recipients of this year’s Ordre du mérite de Brossard who, thanks to their leadership, perseverance, commitment and great passion, are now part of this illustrious group of citizens who have received this honour and who make Brossard shine beyond its borders.
