Did you know that a municipality is required to have a deputy mayor at all times?
At last night’s public meeting, Brossard’s municipal council appointed Michelle Jarnam Hui, councillor for district 9 (sector J-L-N-X-Y), to act as deputy mayor. This appointment takes effect today, November 16, 2022, for an indefinite period.
The deputy mayor has and exercises the powers of the mayor when the latter is absent from the territory or is unable to fulfill the duties of her office.
In accordance with the Cities and Towns Act, a municipality is required to have a deputy mayor at all times.
