This summer, Brossard is all about fun, excitement and discovery!

The warm weather is back, and with it the Town’s calendar of events and activities. This summer, Brossard is all about having fun, getting in the water, getting active and discovering. You’re sure to fall in love with our summer program!

“It’s with great enthusiasm that we welcome this return to normal life. Our teams have pulled out all the stops to keep Brussel’s population entertained during the warm season. It’s going to be a fun, festive, enriching and refreshing summer for everyone, and we can’t wait to share these great moments with our citizens,” said Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad.

Pleasure galore, just a stone’s throw from home

Brossard s’amuse offers a wide range of programming in local parks. From the end of June to the end of August, colorful activities and events will be offered free of charge in every sector of the city. Shows, street entertainers, open-air cinema and many other surprises await you!

The tour kicks off on Tuesday June 28 at Parc Saint-Laurent with a performance by a trio of percussionists from the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil. The summer will feature a singer-songwriter, the group Something New performing a tribute to the Beatles, Carlos Placeres, screenings of the films Chantez 2! and En avant, and SOS Fantôme, l’au-delà. And don’t forget the three (3) Saturdays dedicated to families, with inflatable games, strolling entertainment and shows for all.

Note that shows and cinemas are postponed until the following day in the event of rain.

Back to the Party at Poly-Aréna Park!

The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal will stop in Brossard on July 26 for a5th edition of its popular free concert series: OSM in SiriusXM Parks. Come and enjoy an unforgettable evening with this world-renowned orchestra. You’ll be entertained by unifying and inspiring tunes from the classical repertoire. Actress Magalie Lépine-Blondeau will act as Master of Ceremonies.

Mark your calendars for August 12 and 13, as the Festin culturel returns in full force this summer. Les Trois Accords, the Boogie Wonder Band, Valérie Ékoumé, the Noubi Trio, Bantu Salsa, and Les Petites Tounes will keep the crowd dancing. Come meet event spokesperson, multi-percutionist and host Mélissa Lavergne, discover international dishes and try our world workshops. And let’s not forget the famous fireworks display at the end of the evening, to the delight of young and old alike.

Pools and water games to cool off in

Don’t stay in the heat any longer, come and have a dip in one of Brossard’s six (6) pools and six (6) wading pools. Access is free and requires no reservation. Starting this Saturday, June 11, the pools at Parc Aster and Parc Victorin will be open on a preseason schedule. From June 18, all pools and paddling pools, with the exception of Champlain, will be accessible during the early season schedule. Finally, from June 24 to August 21, the regular timetable will be in force.

Even on grey days, you can take a dip in the pool at the aquatic complex. Only residents have access, with free reservation. A valid bciti loisir card is required to reserve a time slot.

There’s no denying that Brossard is taking to the water this summer!

Water games are also available daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the following parks: Aumont, Briand, Castello, James-Darby, Lunan, Olympia, Place Solar, Trahan and Vanier. Consult the City’s interactive map to find out where they are located.

Discovery and adventure

The Georgette-Lepage Brossard Library is not to be outdone, with a fun, enriching and diversified program for youngsters this summer. In Brossard, we have a heart to discover! The TD Reading Club, with its Mythical and Legendary theme, will plunge young readers into a world of legendary heroes and famous characters on quests that are sometimes mysterious, often epic! Please note that the TD Reading Club begins on June 27 at 10 a.m. for the Apprentice Readers’ Club (ages 3 to 5), Readers’ Club (ages 6 to 12) and TD Storytelling Trail. A themed activity program is also available for ages 6 to 12, with registration starting June 13, at 10 a.m., at biblio.brossard.ca/club or 450 923-6304, ext. 6172.

Reading and nature on the menu!

Reading under the tent is back in full force this year at Victorin Park: Mondays, 2:30 to 4 p.m. and at Manon Park: Wednesdays, 2:30 to 4 p.m. Accompanied by a friendly hostess, comfortably seated in a tent, children are invited to read a selection of specially chosen books. The activity is cancelled in the event of bad weather.

Also, L’heure du conte en pyjama is back for ages 3 to 6, on Mondays July 11, July 25 and August 8, at 7 p.m., with registration. Nursery rhymes and relaxation exercises on the menu! Note that children can also participate in free activities at the library: board games, movie Thursdays, free LEGO, and more!

In addition, photography, acrylics and drawings are featured in our two exhibition venues. Take advantage of hot days to come inside and cool off while discovering these artists from near and far. Let yourselves be guided by their talent and transported by their story.

Summer is for playing

Rediscover the pleasure of movement with Brossard s’active. Basketball, shuffleboard, canoe, kayak and paddleboard, bocce ball and roller sports. There’s something for everyone. If you’re more comfortable with a racket in hand, note that it’s now compulsory to reserve your court for free tennis, pickleball and badminton. Take advantage of the opportunity to get to your activity on foot, bike, scooter or in-line skates on one of the city’s multi-purpose trails.

Building on the success of May’s Vitality Tour, Zumba Arena will be back on June 13, July 11 and August 15. First come, first dance!
