Ville de Brossard announces the official opening of all its outdoor pools and wading pools on Thursday, June 25. It should be noted that the exceptional opening of the Champlain and Marie-Victorin pools since last weekend is in response to the health emergency imposed by extreme heat conditions.
Since open swimming is very popular in neighborhood pools, measures such as reduced capacity have been put in place to facilitate compliance with the physical distance and health guidelines issued by the Quebec government. In particular, the facilities will be able to accommodate between 30 and 50 bathers at a time. In addition, certain time slots, normally busier, will be available by reservation for residents only, and some periods will be reserved exclusively for Les Frimousses day camp.

All bathing periods will be 50 minutes long and will start every hour.
Cleaning and disinfection protocols are implemented, and rescue and first aid procedures are applied to protect users and employees. The City reminds users that :
- Toilet blocks will be accessible in emergencies only.
- The pools will be evacuated at the end of each bathing period to allow staff to disinfect the area and to avoid cross-fertilization between groups.
- Users must respect the direction of traffic and signs to avoid crossing.
- Lending or sharing equipment is not recommended. Users must bring their own equipment, identified with their name.
- As the use of fountains is not recommended, users must bring enough water for the duration of the swim, in a plastic container identified with their name.
- After swimming, users must leave the pool as quickly as possible.
All the measures and instructions to be followed are available on the city’s website. The aim of all these measures is to ensure that users have a fun and safe bathing experience, despite the environment.
