Inauguration of Victorin Park’s intergenerational refreshment area

29 August 2023 Last update 17/05/2025

The public will be able to enjoy many fine summers at the intergenerational refreshment area in Victorin Park.

Ville de Brossard officially inaugurated the new intergenerational refreshment area in Victorin Park. The facilities have been open to the public since July 15.

The project to replace the outdated aquatic facilities was made possible thanks to $2,581,692 in financial assistance from the Community, Cultural and Recreational Infrastructure component of the Invest in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) and the Programme d’aide financière aux infrastructures récréatives et sportives (PAFIRS) of the Quebec government.

The inauguration took place on August 29 in the presence of Alexandra Mendès, Member of Parliament for Brossard-Saint-Lambert, Isabelle Charest, Minister responsible for Sport, Recreation and Outdoors, and Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard. Participants were given a tour of the new facilities, which include a service building, main pool, water play area and concrete beaches, relaxation areas and landscaping.

“I’m delighted to see Brossard residents of all ages discover these new facilities and enjoy a moment of fun and relaxation, thanks to the modern facilities we’ve been able to create with the support of the federal and provincial governments, which I’d like to thank once again. A project like this is refreshing for a neighbourhood,” said Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad.

“I’m delighted with the inauguration of this new, modern and welcoming refreshment area, which will benefit people of all ages. The realization of this project confirms that our government is taking action to increase accessibility to nearby recreational and sports infrastructures for the entire population. I reiterate that regular physical activity has numerous benefits for both physical and mental health. I congratulate the various partners who have contributed to this achievement, and I invite the public to come and enjoy these new facilities in large numbers,” declared Isabelle Charest, Minister responsible for Sport, Recreation and Outdoors.

“Our parks and open spaces play a very important role in the health and well-being of our communities. The rehabilitation of this space underscores the importance we place on ensuring that present and future generations can enjoy these community infrastructures,” says Alexandra Mendès, Member of Parliament for Brossard-Saint-Lambert.
