The City of Brossard signed the deed of sale for Maison Brossard, located on Chemin des Prairies, yesterday in Mayor Doreen Assaad’s office at City Hall.
“The purchase of the Maison Brossard represents a historic legacy of inestimable value. This ancestral jewel will be preserved and will occupy an important place in the city’s history. I am proud and grateful for this acquisition. It reaffirms our commitment to preserving the city’s cultural heritage. This is a moving moment for me and for all the members of the municipal council,” declared the mayor.
Mrs. Assaad also acknowledged the contribution of Mrs. Yolande Sainte-Marie and her husband, Mr. Paul Trépanier, both citizens of Brossard, for their support throughout the process in ensuring that this building and the site on which it stands are included in Quebec’s cultural heritage register.
The vocation of Maison Brossard will be determined at a later date. The City will ensure that all Brossard residents can enjoy this emblematic site.
