At a special meeting held this morning, Brossard’s municipal council adopted a resolution to appoint Mr. Guy Benedetti as the city’s new general manager. With over forty years’ experience in both the municipal and public transport sectors, Mr. Benedetti will take up his new post on June 27.
Benedetti holds an MBA in Human Resources from the École de hautes études commerciales (HEC) and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal. A member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, he has held a number of senior management positions, including General Manager for the cities of Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Saint-Hubert and Longueuil, and for the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL). Since March 2016, he has held the position of Director General of the Town of Rosemère. Over the course of his career, he has managed budgets of several hundred million dollars at Longueuil and RTL, and thousands of employees in these two organizations combined.
“I am very pleased and proud to be able to count on Guy Benedetti’s expertise to lead the city’s administration. There’s no doubt that his vast experience in the municipal sector and his in-depth knowledge of how the Longueuil agglomeration works will benefit Brossard,” said Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad. Our city is in full swing, and with the opening this fall of three Réseau express métropolitain (REM) stations in Brossard and the implementation of the Programme particulier d’urbanisme (PPU) for the new downtown area, Guy Benedetti’s expertise will be greatly appreciated.”
Benedetti succeeds Pierre Archambault, who held the position for just over three (3) years. The latter announced his retirement last April and will leave in August.
