Ville de Brossard invites the public to give generously to the Grande Guignolée des médias de la Rive-Sud on December 7.

The City of Brossard invites the public to give generously during the Grande Guignolée des médias de la Rive-Sud (GGMRS), which will take place on Thursday, December 7, in the Brossard area. Citizens are invited to take part in this vast campaign of solidarity with the most disadvantaged members of our society.

“In this 22nd edition and as the host city for the campaign launch, I invite the population to be most generous towards their fellow man. On behalf of the entire municipal council and staff, I am pleased to announce that we are donating $5,000 to the Grande Guignolée des médias de la Rive-Sud 2023 to support families and individuals in vulnerable situations. Let’s give generously for the well-being of our community,” said Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad.

Online, cash or street donations

It’s easy and secure to donate online at guignoleerivesud.org. Volunteers will also be collecting donations at the Panama and Chevrier terminuses on this day of caring. If you don’t have the opportunity to hand in your cash donation on December 7, you can also drop it off at the cash registers of Jean Coutu pharmacies in Brossard.

Donations of non-perishable goods

From December1 to 24, non-perishable foodstuffs can be brought to Mail Champlain in Brossard. Donations collected will be donated to 21 organizations in the Longueuil agglomeration that work with the underprivileged, young and old, to make the holiday season a little sweeter.

Thanks to the Grande Guignolée des médias de la Rive-Sud 2022, the Maison d’entraide Saint-Alphonse de Brossard distributed 279 Christmas baskets and provided 2,826 groceries, serving 5,616 adults and 4,541 children. In this period of inflation and food insecurity, where needs are great, the population is warmly invited to exceed these numbers in 2023 for this great rendezvous of generosity.
