Ville de Brossard wishes to inform citizens that a gas leak occurred on Wednesday, October 28 in the late morning on boulevard du Quartier in Brossard at the Solar commercial and residential complex.
Cause
The gas leak was caused by a privately-owned backhoe hitting a 2″ pipe belonging to Energir.
Energir and the Service de sécurité incendie de l’agglomération de Longueuil were quickly dispatched to ensure the safety of residents and merchants. Nearly 1,000 people had to be evacuated.
Power failure

Power Failure
Nearly 17,000 Hydro-Québec customers are without power. This allows the on-site intervention team to plug the leak as quickly and safely as possible.
