Ville de Brossard invites everyone to take part in the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Bibliothèque de Brossard Georgette-Lepage. From March 8 to 28, 2026, a rich, festive and unifying anniversary program will highlight five decades of history, culture and discoveries at the heart of the community.
Since 1976, the library has been much more than a lending library. It’s a living space where we learn, create and exchange. Generation after generation, it has accompanied the first steps in reading, nurtured curiosity, supported academic success and opened up new horizons.
Fifty years later, it remains a pillar of the municipal cultural offering and a strong symbol of Brossard’s commitment to cultural accessibility.

“For 50 years, our library has been evolving with our community and enriching our daily lives. It demonstrates that public services make a real difference to our lives when we support them with constancy and conviction. By offering a culture that is accessible and inspiring to all, it contributes fully to Brossard’s influence and vitality,” emphasizes Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.
Festive, intergenerational programming
To mark this anniversary, the city is proposing a program that will honor the library’s history while celebrating its future:

- Conferences and meetings with Michel Désautels, Jean-François Lépine, Matthieu Dugal and Pierre Verville, among others;
- a 100% teen party;
- festive karaoke: 50 years in song;
- an outdoor exhibition tracing the history of the library;
- numerous special events and activities for the whole family.
This anniversary program reflects the image of the library: accessible, dynamic and open to all generations.
Through these celebrations, the town would like to thank the citizens who, over the past 50 years, have made the library a place that brings people together, inspires them and is deeply rooted in community life.
