Some 425 guests accepted Brossard Mayor Doreen Assaad’s invitation to celebrate the New Year with elected officials at the Alphonse-Lepage Sociocultural Center on January 20.
The event was an opportunity for the people of Brossard to meet the mayor and councillors in a festive and convivial atmosphere. Young and old gave free rein to their talents in an olfactory and artistic scent-painting activity. Face painters and clowns were on hand this year to entertain the children, while parents chatted with elected representatives. A Mimosa Mocktail was also offered to adults as a welcome gift.
Ms. Assaad was delighted to see the growing popularity of the event. “I’m delighted that so many families took part in this year’s event, which I wanted to be more multi-generational. It’s a privileged moment for me to meet citizens in a non-formal setting, and to learn more about their expectations of their City and City Council members,” said the Mayor.
