Mr. Larochelle, who passed away in April, was a retired city employee and an active youth volunteer for over 30 years.
Yesterday, the Mayor of Brossard, Mrs. Doreen Assaad, officially received, on behalf of the City of Brossard, the donation of a tree from the Brossard Minor Hockey Association. The tree, a two-tone oak, was planted in front of the Michel-Normandin arena and is accompanied by a commemorative plaque in memory of Mr. Simon Larochelle.
Mr. Larochelle, who passed away in April, was a retired city employee and an active youth volunteer for over 30 years. Over the years, he has made a significant contribution to the organization of the Brossard Provincial Atom Tournament.
“I am delighted by this initiative in memory of a man with a big heart, involved in our community and esteemed by all. Our thoughts are with his family, and we hope this humble gesture will put a little balm on their sorrow,” expressed Mrs. Assaad.
