Partial reopening of the Brossard Georgette-Lepage library and relaxation of access rules for outdoor skating rinks.
Following the adjustment of health measures in the red zone by the Quebec government last Tuesday, Ville de Brossard is announcing the update of some of its services, including the partial reopening of the Georgette-Lepage Brossard Library and the easing of access rules to outdoor skating rinks.
Library: access to circulation desk and work areas
As of Monday, February 8, it will be possible to browse the shelves of the Brossard Georgette-Lepage library and borrow items at the counter. To respect the rules of distancing, only a small part of the furniture and computer workstations will be available, and this without reservation.
The new timetable will be :
| Monday to Friday | 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. |
| Saturday and Sunday | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
To ensure a safe environment for all, measures have been put in place. Among other things, the wearing of masks and respect for distancing measures will be required at all times inside the library. A health questionnaire must also be completed at reception to facilitate traceability in the event of an outbreak. Capacity is limited to 100 people, and no food or drink is allowed. A full list of instructions will be posted on site.
The contactless loan service will still be available on request at 450 923-6304, ext. 6276. In addition, all document returns must continue to be made to the external book chute.
Finally, the library’s digital resources remain available at all times at brossard.ca/biblio/numerique.
Free outdoor activities: new schedule and new instructions
The City maintains the maximum capacity of the rink for free skating at 24 people, while a maximum of 16 people will be able to practice with sticks and pucks, according to the new schedule. Practice with stick and puck is permitted in bubbles or in groups according to government guidelines.

In keeping with the curfew required by the Quebec government, all municipal buildings, including cottages and park facilities, will close to the public at 7:30 p.m. every evening. Some essential operations, such as snow clearing and urgent repair work, will continue after this hour by city employees.
Day Camps – Spring Break Camps Cancelled
In order to be consistent with the measures of the Direction générale de la santé publique, which prohibit the holding of supervised activities such as day camps, Ville de Brossard will cancel its spring break camps 2021. Please note that a daycare service will be maintained only for the children of essential workers and will be offered in schools only, by school support staff and not by the municipality.

Following the adjustments to red-zone sanitary measures made by the government of Quebec last Tuesday, the Ville de Brossard has announced an update to some of its services. These include the partial reopening of the Bibliothèque de Brossard Georgette-Lepage library and a loosening of the rules governing access to outdoor rinks.
Library: Access to Circulation Desk and Work Areas
Starting Monday, February 8, it will be possible to access the stacks at the Bibliothèque de Brossard Georgette-Lepage library and borrow materials at the circulation desk. To comply with physical distancing rules, there will be limited availability of furniture and IT stations. Reservations will not be required.
The new schedule is as follows:

Measures have been implemented to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Among others, wearing a mask and complying with physical distancing guidelines will be required at all times inside the library. It will also be necessary to fill out a health questionnaire at the entrance to facilitate contact tracing in the event of an outbreak. Capacity will be limited to 100 people, and eating and drinking will be prohibited. A full list of the rules to be followed will be posted on site.
The contactless loan service will remain available upon request at 450-923-6304, extension 6276. In addition, all returned materials must still be deposited in the exterior book drop.

Outdoor Recreational Activities: New Schedule and Guidelines
The city will continue to allow a maximum of 24 people on the rink for recreational skating, while a maximum of 16 will be allowed to play field hockey with a stick and puck at the times designated by the new schedule in effect. Per the government’s directives, play with a stick and puck is allowed with members of your family bubble or in groups of four (4) people.
