The registration session for aquatic activities on June 4 was a great success. In fact, despite being a summer session, it was the biggest in the last 12 months, with an increase of almost 25% in aquatic programming. Nearly 3,000 places were available for people interested in signing up for swimming and aquafitness courses, as well as lifesaving and aquatic education training.
Decisions that bear fruit
In view of the great popularity of these courses, the City evaluates the aquatic program at each session and adjusts the offer to meet the expectations of its citizens.
The free training program, introduced following a decision by the municipal council last March, seems to be having a significant effect, as the combined instructor training for swimming and lifesaving courses is now complete! This is excellent news, enabling the City to continue offering users of the complex a wide choice of courses, with more instructors qualified to teach them.
“We are delighted with the growing popularity of our training courses. The Board is pleased to have set up this free program, which enables the Town to recruit new lifeguards and fill vacant positions. The Complexe aquatique is a source of pride for the entire population of Brussells, as it contributes to the well-being and quality of life of our citizens. It’s a perfect example of the kind of recreational space we want to create: a lively, attractive, innovative and sustainable place that puts people at the heart of its development,” says Mayor Doreen Assaad.
The aquatic complex offers international quality standards
The Complexe aquatique is based on the best practices in the world in terms of sustainable development and energy-efficient measures.
