Complexe aquatique de Brossard | Labour shortage affects fall aquatic programming

16 September 2021 Last update 17/05/2025

Some swimming lessons scheduled in the fall program have to be cancelled

Brossard, September 17, 2021 – Like many companies in Quebec, the Brossard aquatic complex is also affected by the labor shortage. Several instructor-teachers are missing, forcing Ville de Brossard to cancel some of the swimming lessons scheduled in its fall program.

The cessation of sporting activities due to the health situation made it impossible to train new instructors. Although training to become lifeguards and instructor-teachers has resumed, it will take some time to fill the great need for personnel in this field, in Brossard as elsewhere. Since the spring, the city has stepped up its training activities, but this has not been enough.

Lifeguard and instructor positions available

Many lifeguard and instructor positions are still to be filled at the aquatic complex. If you are already a certified lifeguard or lifeguard instructor, please send your CV to human resources at [email protected].

The City extends a special invitation to young people aged 15 to 17 who are good swimmers and are considering working in the aquatic field to pursue or enroll in the training programs currently on offer. To register, visit brossard.ca/aquatic-training.

Reopening of the leisure pool this Monday, September 20

With annual maintenance of the pools and aquatic equipment now complete, the aquatic complex will reopen on September 20, as scheduled. Activities in the recreational pool will start on September 20, and those in the competitive pool on September 25.

Free swim times can be booked from 9 a.m. the day before the swim at brossard.ca/aquatics.

Remember that the vaccination passport is required for open swimming and for all aquatic activities taking place at the aquatic complex.
