The Brossard aquatic complex will be closed from August 28 to September 29 inclusively for annual pool maintenance and cleaning. This closure, which also includes the halls, will enable the teams to carry out a number of additional tasks.
Basin maintenance
The basins will be completely emptied and cleaned, as will the promenade, the deposits, the chutes, the slide, the dips, the filters, etc. This is a process that will take several days to complete, since a certain rhythm must be observed when emptying and filling the basins. By way of comparison, filling a 20,000-litre backyard pool can take 24 to 48 hours, while the complex’s competition pool alone contains three (3) million liters and takes over eight (8) days to fill. The water then needs to be filtered, heated and the parameters adjusted for the comfort of bathers.
Room maintenance
Just like the pools, the rooms in the aquatic complex will be completely emptied and thoroughly cleaned: floors, deposits, walls, windows, etc. It’s also an opportune time to carry out certain repairs and maintenance work, on the floor for example, or on audiovisual systems.
Corrective work and improvements
A number of corrective measures to improve the customer experience will also be carried out during this period. This included work on the ventilation units and springboard railings, as well as the addition of anchors for the swimming colors. We also plan to add, repair and calibrate various measurement tools in the mechanical rooms to facilitate the monitoring of various water quality parameters.
Important dates
Registration for aquatic courses will take place online from 6 p.m. on September 26. Citizens will be able to consult the course schedule from September 8. Open swimming will resume on Saturday, September 30, according to the current schedule, available soon.
Please note that the reception desk will remain open during the closing hours as follows:
- August 28 to September 2 | Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. | Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- September 3 to September 29 | Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
