Closing of outdoor skating rinks, sliding hill and cross-country ski trails: an exceptional winter sports season in Brossard

09 March 2022 Last update 17/05/2025

Now it’s time to think about spring!

For your safety, Ville de Brossard is closing the outdoor skating rinks as well as the sliding slopes and cross-country ski trails at the center de plein air and the large urban park for the season. The hot weather of recent days has led to a significant deterioration in conditions, making practice unsafe.

Did you know that :

● Most city-maintained ice rinks were open from December 24 (an earlier opening than in recent years), allowing skaters to enjoy 69 days of ice time.

● The city offers 22 outdoor skating rinks throughout its territory:

  • 10 rinks with boards;
  • 10 ice ponds, including a new one in the large urban park;
  • 2 iced rings.

● During spring break, young skaters enjoyed the ice rinks and the presence of a public entertainer on skates.

We would like to thank the public works maintenance teams, who are committed to the success and quality of our surfaces, as well as the rink supervision and maintenance team.

We look forward to seeing you on our ice surfaces next season!
