Brossard residents are invited to join in the festivities with their neighbors on Saturday, June 3, for Neighbors’ Day.
Ville de Brossard invites Brossard residents to celebrate with their neighbors on Saturday, June 3, for Neighbours’ Day. Chaperoned by Espace Muni, this event, which has become a tradition in Quebec, aims to bring people together in the neighborhood to fraternize and encourage mutual aid and solidarity between neighbors.
Created in France in 1999 by a municipal councillor, and celebrated in Quebec since 2006, Neighbours’ Day is an opportunity for citizens to get together on the first Saturday of June each year for an activity organized especially for neighbors. As she does every year, the Mayor of Brossard looks forward to the return of this event with excitement and enthusiasm. Every year, Ms. Assaad, President of Espace Muni’s Board of Directors, makes a point of visiting neighbourhood parties to talk to people in the community. “It’s a great pleasure for me to share these festive moments with the citizens of Brossard. Thank you for welcoming me with open arms every year, and I look forward to meeting you!” declared the Mayor of Brossard.
Whether it’s a picnic, a 5 à 7, a barbecue, a competition or a family party, all ideas are welcome! A variety of promotional tools, such as posters and invitation cards, are available to help citizens promote their event. We invite you to download the Espace Muni mobilization guide, the essential tool for planning your Neighbours’ Day event. You’ll also find tips and tricks on how to be the Pro at the Party!
It will also be possible to borrow tables and apply to the city for a temporary street closure. Citizens wishing to organize a gathering are invited to register by May 6 for the Fête des voisins. For further information: Services Brossard, 450 923-6311.
