Brossard, August 30, 2019 – Elected officials, Ville de Brossard employees and citizen members of the working group on the new Brossard skate park project visited the construction site today.
This new space under construction at Poly-aréna park (3085, boulevard de Rome) will replace the old structure, considered outdated. Work began at the end of July.
Completely redesigned, the skate park has been designed by and for users, thanks to the contribution of a working group bringing together members from all walks of life to develop accessible and upgradeable modules, suitable for beginners and experts alike.
“The consultation on the planchrome was an opportunity to give Brossard residents a say in creating a project in their image, so that they can make full use of it and make it their own. I can’t wait to see the results!” said city councillor Sylvie DesGroseilliers, who worked with the members of the working group.
“Thanks to this unifying project located in the heart of the sports hub, the Ville de Brossard will offer a unique space where young and old alike can practice or watch several roller sports: skating and skateboarding, scootering and BMX,” emphasized Doreen Assaad, Mayor of Brossard.
The aim of this work is to improve the quality of life of residents. This year, the city is revitalizing the Trahan and Victor-Hugo parks to create living environments on a human scale.
The official opening will be announced in the coming months.
